HILLSBORO, Ore. (KOIN) — A fire destroyed a rental home in Hillsboro early Saturday morning, but no one was hurt and crews kept the blaze from spreading to other buildings.
The fire at 5990 SE Davis Road began around 1:40 a.m. when the renter, Troy Tidwell, heard a loud sound. Tidwell, who was in a nearby shop at the time, saw the flames coming out of the windows, Washington County officials said.
He tried to get back into the home to get some of his belongings but the heat was too much. A neighbor called 911 but by the time crews arrived the house was engulfed.
The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
