PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — An alert citizen tipped police that a suspected carjacker was in an Autozone in Southeast Portland late Thursday.

The citizen called 911 around 11 p.m. and said the suspect and vehicle matched an earlier report about the carjacker. When police arrived at the store, 6614 SE 82nd, the suspect struggled briefly but was arrested.

Thomas Carl Price is the suspect in a Tuesday night carjacking around SE 50th and Powell. That night, a woman was forced at gunpoint to drive from the Dollar Tree, 6868 SE Foster, to the area around SE 20th and Powell.

The woman managed to escape around SE 50th and called 911 that night.

But police believe Price then took her car and used her credit card in several spots later.

A surveillance photo from a Plaid Pantry was released.

Price, 30, faces 1st-degree robbery, 1st-degree kidnapping and unlawful use of a vehicle. Authorities said more charges may be forthcoming.
