MILWAUKIE, Ore. (KOIN) — A boil water notice has been issued for the City of Milwaukie after water samples tested positive for E.coli and total coliform bacteria.
The samples were taken from a tank at SE 40th Avenue and Harvey Street where Milwaukie and Portland’s water supplies connect, city officials said in a press release.
Milwaukie Water customers should not drink any water without bringing it to a boil for at least 1 minute and letting it cool. Residents should use boiled or bottled water for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, and preparing food.
Ice made before November 9 should be thrown out, the city said.
Follow-up test results are expected at noon on Friday, November 11.
KOIN 6 News will update this story when those results come in.
