PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Friday is Bike to Work day across the country and Portland will be taking part.
Amanda Judkins with the Bicycle Transportation Alliance says their goal is to have 25% of people on bikes by 2020. Sounds ambitious but Judkins says it makes sense for an urban city like Portland.
“If we’re looking at a more dense place where people live in a tightly knit community, a lot of that has kind of revolved around active transportation and people being able to get where you need to go quickly and safely,” she says.
