PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A 35-year-old man faces a variety of charges including 1st-degree kidnapping after being arrested at a motel in North Portland Wednesday afternoon.
Cory James Jackson was pursued by police beginning around 9 a.m. Wednesday after reports of a stolen car involved in a shooting along southbound I-5 and North Victory Boulevard.
The stolen car was found in the 8900 block of North Vanouver Way, but Jackson was not. Following a tip, detectives saw Jackson go into a room at the Viking Motel, 6701 North Interstate Avenue. He surrendered peacefully around 1:15 p.m.
Beyond the kidnapping charge, Jackson now faces charges of coercion, menacing, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, attempt to elude and identity theft. He also has several outstanding warrants.
