PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) —- Someone stole Monta Bear’s vest.
Employees at the downtown Montbell shop told Portland police a man had stolen the vest off the store’s mascot.
It happened just before 5:30 p.m. on Friday in the 900 block of Southwest Yamhill.
The bear was outside the front door and the theft was caught on surveillance video.
The suspect was found Saturday morning crossing the Ross Island Bridge. Police arrested 35-year-old Migual Farnca and returned the vest to Monta Bear.
The store regularly dresses Monta Bear in custom versions of its products available to the public, including vests, beanies, and rain jackets.
