PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A driver who crashed head-on into a TriMet bus on Thursday evening died in the hospital, police said.

The crash happened around 6:20 p.m. on SE 104th Avenue and Mt. Scott Boulevard when a man traveling downhill crossed the center line and rammed into the TriMet bus, which was traveling uphill, Portland Police Bureau said.
Medical personnel arrived on the scene and found the driver with potentially life-threatening injuries. He was taken to a local hospital via ambulance.
The TriMet bus driver was also hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
One passenger was on the bus at the time of the crash. They were unharmed.
Authorities are investigating the crash.
