PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A 26-year-old man is in jail after a police chase in Southeast Portland Monday night.
According to police, officers tried to pull over Pierre Sails near 136th and Division. Officers believed the car, and possibly Sails, were connected to a crime that happened a few days prior.
Instead of stopping for police, Sails sped away and led police on a chase. Officers used a technique to hit and spin Sails’ car and get it to stop. That’s when he accelerated and rammed a police car.
He was taken into custody after that. Police say he was drunk.
