PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Portland Police have released images of three men they are calling ‘persons of interest’ in an attack Saturday.

Witnesses told police that Sam Whitehorn, 26, was on the sidewalk near the 21st Avenue Quick Stop and a restaurant called Muu Muu’s when he got into an argument with the suspect and his two companions. The suspect punched Whitehorn once or twice, which caused him to fall and hit his head.

Whitehorn’s girlfriend, who was not there when the attack happened, tells KOIN 6 News he was assaulted by a group of Seahawks fans because he was wearing a Packers beanie. Officers can’t confirm if it was his Packers beanie that sparked the confrontation.

The suspect is described as white or Hispanic man in his 30s and 5’11” with a thin build. He was wearing a black jacket.

Police say the three people in the surveillance images are considered persons of interest. If you recognize them or have any other information, contact Detective Tony Harris at 503.823.0786 or tony.harris@portlandoregon.gov.
