Witness: Man killed by MAX stumbled onto tracks

HILLSBORO, Ore. (KOIN) — A man died after being hit by a MAX train in Hillsboro Sunday night, authorities said.

Hillsboro police and firefighters were called to the MAX station at 3rd Street and Washington around 8:35 p.m., Hillsboro Police Dept. said.

A witness said the man stumbled and fell under a moving westbound train.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

His name and age are currently unknown.

Shuttle buses picked up MAX passengers between Hatfield Government Center and Washington/SE 12th Avenue.

The investigation is ongoing.
