BEAVERTON, Ore. (KOIN) — A Beaverton woman had racial slurs directed at her Tuesday during a road rage incident and video of the incident has gone viral.

Susan Khalaf says the incident began near the corner of SW 170th and TV Highway. The two continued to drive down the street together for several blocks until Khalaf had the presence of mind to start recording.

She recorded the outbursts through her passenger window during rush hour traffic. She says the incident seemed to start as road rage.

“So I rolled down my window and he started with the racial slurs — calling me an immigrant and telling me to go  back home and you immigrant — I don’t want to repeat the words,” says Khalaf.

In the video the driver of the red truck uses derogatory terms. It is clear he thinks she is Hispanic.

The man in the video is wearing a t-shirt that belongs to a Portland area plumbing company. KOIN 6 tried to contact the company to verify the man’s identity but our calls were not returned.

The plumbing company, Wolcott Plumbing, later sent KOIN 6 News an email statement, where the President confirmed the man in the video was one of their employees. The man was in his personal vehicle at the time and was off duty. Even so, the President says he was immediately terminated once the company learned of the video.

Khalaf shared the video on Facebook and it was shared thousands of times. She says she did it so he will see how hurtful and hateful his comments were.

“I just wanted him to see what he looked like and to open his eyes a little bit. The things he says are nasty and totally uncalled for.”

A link to the video can be found on Khalah’s You Tube page here, but warning, it contains graphic language.
