SILVERTON, Ore. (KOIN) — A motorcyclist was critically injured in a crash with a pickup truck in Silverton Wednesday evening, officials said.
The crash happened around 5:30 p.m. in the area of Silverton Road NE and Desart Road NE, Marion County Sheriff’s Office said.
The motorcyclist was reportedly traveling east on Silverton Road when a Chevrolet pickup truck traveling west went to turn onto Desart Road. That’s when the motorcycle struck the truck, deputies said.
Witnesses told deputies the motorcyclist was riding without his lights on and was passing other cars.
He was taken to Silverton Hospital where he was later Life Flighted to Legacy Emanuel Medical Center in critical condition.
The driver of the truck sustained minor injuries, deputies said.
