Portland police investigate Hazelwood shooting

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN 6) — Officer are investigating a reported shooting in the city’s Hazelwood neighborhood.

Police said the reported shooting was called into 911 dispatchers around 2:30 a.m. Saturday in the 12000 block of Southeast Ash Street. Officers responded to an apartment complex and located one male who was suffering from an injury. He was transported to OHSU. Police on scene said his injuries did not appear to be life-threatening.

Two K-9 units responded to search for the suspect and evidence.

One person was seen in handcuffs, but it remains unknown if they are associated with the incident.

Officers have not said if the shooting was gang related, but confirmed the city’s gang unit was made aware of the incident.
