MOLALLA, Ore. (KOIN) — A Molalla man who allegedly shot and killed his wife during a dispute Monday night has been identified by authorities.

Both the man and woman involved were said to be intoxicated when the dispute began shortly after 9 p.m. on the 800 block of June Drive, the Molalla Police Dept. said.
The man, identified as Wayne E. Flues, 53, told police he didn’t know the gun was loaded when he pointed it at his wife’s face and pulled the trigger. He was also the one who called authorities. His wife was identified as Brenda M. Flues, 53, police say.
She died on the way to the hospital, police said.
“It just sounds like it was a domestic, at least from what I’m hearing, a domestic thing between the two of them. I don’t know them, so I have no idea what was going on. [It’s] totally unusual, absolutely,” said Cindy Fincher, a neighbor.
Wayne Flues is in custody and faces a murder charge, authorities said. He is expected to be in court around 3 p.m.
