PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – When a woman told her attackers that she was pregnant, one of the assailants said, “I don’t care. I’ll make you lose your baby,” according to court documents.

The suspect accused in the attack has been identified as Candice D. Murphy.

She is being held at the Multnomah County Detention Center and is scheduled to be arraigned on Tuesday after a grand jury indicted her.

According to police, the attack happened in late September at the Dotty’s restaurant in the 1300 block of Northeast 181st in Gresham.

The grand jury that reviewed the case determined that should be charged with one count each of second-degree assault, attempted second-degree kidnapping, coercion, fourth-degree assault, and third-degree assault.

Police said Murphy and the victim are known to each other.

The attack was captured on the bar’s video system, according to court documents. After watching the video, detectives learned that the victim was never fighting back her alleged attackers, one of whom had a Taser.

Because the second suspect in the incident has not been charged, KOIN 6 News is not identifying her.

According to court records, Murphy has three felony convictions and one misdemeanor conviction on her record, and takes care of four children who live with her.
