PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Thanksgiving is just a few days away and lot of people are already getting into the volunteering spirit.

A determined group of volunteers from Tandem Property Management spent their Saturday morning putting together 600 Thanksgiving baskets for families.
“Everybody is so happy when you look around,” volunteer Travis Proffitt said. “We love this.”
This group went to the Union Gospel Mission, where organizers couldn’t keep up with the folks from Tandem Property Management.
“The’re incredible,” Communications Director Stacy Kean said. “We kind of budgeted several hours, but I think they’re going to be done in less than an hour.”
The baskets will go out to hundreds of families who wouldn’t be able to afford a Thanksgiving dinner on their own.
“It just gives me a bigger faith in humanity, considering what’s going on right now,” Proffitt said. “It’s nice to see this, you know? We’re all one again. It’s great.”
