PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Two teens died in a car crash on I-5 northbound at I-205 early Friday morning.
Oregon State Police say the crash was between a 1996 Volvo driven by a 16-year-old boy and a semi-truck. The boy tried to pass the semi-truck and collided into the rear. It spun out and collided again with the semi.
The Volvo driver and a 16-year-old female passenger were killed. Sources told KOIN 6 News Andrew Gonzalez and Michelle Guevara died in the crash.
A friend of Gonzalaz described him as a good friend who was close with his family, especially his younger brother.
“He put a smile on everyone’s face,” the friend said. “He was loved by many and will be missed deeply.”
