PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A little more than 3 weeks ago, the city of Portland began sweeping the homeless camps out of Springwater Corridor. But one group found a new spot in Southeast Portland — and they’re getting cleared out.
The camp at SE 114th and Foster, dubbed Camp Amanda, has strict rules — a 10 p.m. curfew and a code of conduct for every member to sign. But there are less than 10 people at the camp and park rangers posted a notice to leave.
It’s not exactly clear when Camp Amanda will be swept. However, the camp is not just on Portland property. It’s also on protected wetlands.
KOIN 6 News will have more information as it develops.
