We did it: First 90 degree day of the year

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — June 4. The hottest day of 2016.

Seven records were broken Saturday, including in downtown Portland, where there is a lot of Rose Festival activity happening.

And it’s only going to get hotter. Sunday is expected to be another sweltering day with a forecast high of 97. If we reach 97, that will break the record of 96 degrees set in 2003. The excessive heat warning continues until 10 p.m. Sunday, June 5.

Plenty of cooling centers are open for those who need relief this weekend.
