PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A man is in custody after a standoff with Portland Police at the Fox Run Mobile Home Park.
The standoff started about 7:30 Tuesday night. Police were called to the area because of a disturbance between a man and a woman. The suspect came out of the home with a gun and pointed it at officers. That is when SERT was called in.
The suspect fired multiple shots but no officers or residents were hit. He then went back inside the home with his mother and fired a few more rounds into neighboring mobile homes.
SERT deployed gas into the home and the suspect came out of the house again and fired more shots. Officers returned fire but the man wasn’t hit. He went back inside and eventually said he wanted to surrender.
The man was taken to a hospital, but doesn’t have any gunshot wounds.
Detectives say this is now an officer-involved shooting investigation.
