PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Portland Police officers are investigating a shooting in Southeast Portland.
Police say 2 men were injured in a drive-by at SE 119th Ave. and SE Ash St. They have serious injuries but are expected to survive.
Investigators say the men were standing outside a home when they were shot by someone in a dark colored car. The car was driving westbound on Ash.
A stray bullet also hit a nearby apartment where someone was home. That person wasn’t hurt.
Arloa Hurt has lived in the area for decades and says it used to be a quiet neighborhood where everyone looked out for each other. She says in the last few years that’s changed.
“Now it’s not that way anymore, everybody goes their own separate way and it’s really scary. It’s more scarier now than it was 10 years ago.”
Ash was closed between SE 122nd and 119th for several hours.
The Gang Enforcement Team is investigating.
