PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – Traffic in the Richmond neighborhood was diverted Saturday morning because of an apartment fire.
Crews tell KOIN 6 News the fire was reported shortly after 6:30 a.m. in the 2100 block of Southeast Lincoln, near the intersection of Southeast 50th and Southeast Lincoln.
Emergency dispatchers received two reports from people passing by that there was smoke and flames coming from the apartment. As crews were responding, they could see the smoke billowing.
Firefighters say the blaze spread into the walls, between floors, and into the attic of the 2-story building.
At least 2 units have been affected, and one person was displaced, officials say. The cause is under investigation.
