SALEM, Ore. (KOIN) — Businesses in Salem resumed normal operations Friday morning after the bomb squad was called to the area on reports of 2 suspicious packages.

Marion County Sheriff’s Office tweeted Friday morning that employees and visitors at Marion County Circuit Court and Court House Square were advised to take shelter while “SPD [Salem Police Department] handles a situation.”

Shortly after, an all clear was given and businesses resumed normal operations. The suspicious packages were examined by the bomb squad and safely removed, police said.
