You can rent Ankeny Square downtown for $1 a year

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Calling all creative, business-minded people!

Portland Parks & Recreation is giving locals a chance to rent Ankeny Square in downtown Portland for just $1 a year. The catch? You must submit a business proposal that will help turn the square into a vibrant spot with a unique identity.

The bureau wants to turn Ankeny Square into a positive, welcoming spot for visitors.

Some ideas include food or beverage carts, retailers like flower, souvenir or art shops, recreational programming to promote physical activity, arts and culture, and more.

If you think you have a great idea, you must articulate your plan in a letter to PP&R. You should include a cover letter, business plan and concept site plan.
