PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Skyrocketing rent and lack of local housing aren’t new headlines for Portland. That’s why Oregon lawmakers are reaching out beyond the state’s borders for a solution.
Senators Jeff Merkley and Ron Wyden and Congressman Earl Blumenauer sat down for a round table discussion on affordable housing on Tuesday.
The US legislators understand the issue. Wyden said there are “soaring housing prices in Oregon, not just in Portland, but Bend, Hood River and Astoria.”
