OREGON CITY, Ore. (KOIN) — Narcotics investigators arrested 2 people in the parking lot of the Oregon City Shopping Center when they allegedly crashed a stolen Acura and tried to flee after allegedly making a drug deal.
The arrest on Tuesday happened after drug investigators said they saw the driver of a stolen 1996 Acura RL appear to sell drugs to one person and then drive away.
When Clackamas County authorities tried to stop the Acura, the driver — later identified as Joshua Gale — took off quickly. The Acura smashed into one car, then went over a median and crashed into a parked vehicle.
The 35-year-old from Dayton, Oregon then tried to flee out the passenger door, officials said, but was quickly arrested.
Authorities said they found a gun inside the car that they believe is stolen.
A woman inside the Acura, Lindsey Ann McCormick, was also arrested on outstanding warrants for burglary and theft. McCormick, 32, is from Portland.
Gale faces 8 charges, including parole violation and obliterating firearm identification marks.
Both are being held in the Clackamas County Jail.
