Bernie Sanders to hold Moda Center rally Friday

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders will be in Portland Friday afternoon for a rally at the Moda Center.

Doors open at 9:45 a.m. and entry will be on a first come, first served basis. The rally will begin at 12:45 p.m.

Prior to his Portland stop, Sanders will campaign in Washington for a second time this week. He’ll kick off a 2-day visit on Thursday with stops in Spokane and Yakima.

He’ll swing through Seattle on Friday.

Thursday’s rally at Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena begins at 2 p.m., to be followed by a 7 p.m. event at the Yakima Valley SunDome in Yakima.

Friday’s rally is at Safeco Field in Seattle.

Washington’s Democratic Party will hold caucuses this Saturday, March 26 at 10 a.m. Every registered Democrat over the age of 18 is eligible to participate.

There are 118 Democratic delegates at stake in Washington, with 101 to be awarded proportionally based on the results of the caucuses. The remaining 17 are superdelegates, or party leaders who can back any candidate they wish.
