SALEM, Ore. (KOIN) — Police are working to identify a man accused of breaking into an elderly woman’s Salem home and robbing her.
The suspect was armed with a handgun when he forced his way into the residence on D Street NE after 10 a.m. Saturday morning, Salem Police Dept. said.
He reportedly stole the woman’s car and fled the scene.
The victim escaped and ran from her home to summon help, but the suspect was gone before police arrived. He abandoned the car nearby, police said.
Surveillance video captured the suspect’s image as he ran from the car.
He is considered armed and dangerous.
