NEWBERG, Ore. (KOIN) — Newberg-Dundee Police say they are investigating a threat of violence against Newberg High School. The threat was deemed credible and brought against the school by two students.

The two students are in police custody on charges unrelated to the school threat.

Police say they were notified of the threat by school counselors, who were alerted by concerned students and parents.

The school will now conduct a threat assessment to determine if the two students should be disciplined.

There is an increased police presence at the school Friday. Classes are still in session.
